Rate: £30–£46 per hour
Working Hours: Full-time/Part-time (Full-time required for this booking: Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00, excluding Bank Holidays)
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join the team at London Bridge Hospital. This temporary assignment involves providing specialist Speech and Language Therapy input across acute and critical care settings, with the primary base at the main London Bridge Hospital site and occasional patient reviews at the Guy’s site if required.
This role is suitable for a Band 7 therapist (or an experienced Band 6) with strong clinical expertise in acute care, particularly managing tracheostomies. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality assessments and interventions to adults with complex communication and swallowing needs within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary hospital environment.
In this role, you will:
• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adults with acute communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Deliver safe and effective management of patients with tracheostomies, including those in Critical Care.
• Work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and patient-centred care.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate clinical documentation in line with professional and hospital standards.
• Contribute to clinical discussions, handovers, and MDT meetings to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage your caseload efficiently within a busy acute hospital setting.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• Current HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership.
• Significant experience working within acute hospital settings.
• Essential experience in Critical Care and tracheostomy management.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to work autonomously and confidently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
