Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join a dynamic hospital team in London. This role involves working with adult inpatients across acute wards, providing specialist assessment and intervention for a range of communication and swallowing disorders.

This position is ideal for a therapist with solid acute experience and competency in videofluoroscopy, who is confident leading clinics and contributing to high-quality patient care. Tracheostomy and FEES skills are desirable but not essential. You will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team committed to improving patient outcomes and supporting professional development.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat adults with complex communication and swallowing difficulties in an acute inpatient setting.

  • Lead videofluoroscopy clinics and provide expert interpretation of results.

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.

  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and hospital standards.

  • Contribute to service development, training, and professional supervision as required.


Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).

  • HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).

  • Significant experience working with adult inpatients in acute settings.

  • Videofluoroscopy competency, ideally with experience of leading clinics.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Tracheostomy and FEES skills (desirable).

  • A proactive and reflective approach to professional development.
