Pulse is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join an adult acute care team at Charing Cross Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled clinician to work across the Hyperacute and Acute Units, providing essential care to patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
This role is best suited to a therapist with previous acute inpatient experience, who can work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment. You'll be working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, contributing to high-quality patient care in a well-established NHS trust.
In this role, you will:
Independently assess, diagnose, and manage adult inpatients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
Deliver high-quality interventions, prioritising patient safety and recovery across acute and hyperacute wards.
Collaborate closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to ensure joined-up care.
Maintain up-to-date clinical records in line with trust and professional guidelines.
Participate in ward rounds, MDT meetings, and discharge planning where appropriate.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership.
RCSLT Dysphagia Competencies Level C (or equivalent).
Proven experience in an acute hospital setting.
Confidence working independently with adult inpatient caseloads.
Strong communication, organisational, and teamworking skills.
