Position Summary

As an integral member of the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Management the Administrative Assistant III acts as a facilitator and key resource for the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Management (DAPM) on clinical anesthesia scheduling and administrative matters across UHN and Women’s College Hospital.

Duties

  • Coordinates departmental clinical scheduling and administrative activities.
  • Ensures the efficient and effective operation of the office.
  • Provides support with financial activities.
  • Provides support with special projects, as assigned and/or requested
  • Performs cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.
  • Works in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contravention’s of the Act, in a timely manner.
  • At Minimum, completion of a 2-year community college program in health care administration or recognized equivalent required.
  • Business, organization or management training at the college or university level preferred.
  • At minimum over 4 years up to and include 6 years practical and related experience and/or 2 years on the job training required.
  • Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience required; experience in a Microsoft Office environment required.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to produce high quality and accurate work in accordance with Hospital standards required.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player required.
