Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Accounting Management & Reporting
· Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing in compliance with PFRS / PAS
· Prepare and review:
o Balance Sheet
o Income Statement (P&L)
o Cash Flow Statement
· Ensure timely submission of management reports to local and regional leadership
· Perform variance analysis vs budget, forecast, and prior year
· Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning exercises
· Monitor working capital (AR, AP, inventory, cash position)
2. General Accounting & Bookkeeping Oversight
· Supervise GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, and Inventory accounting
· Ensure accurate:
o Journal entries
o Account reconciliations
o Accruals and provisions
· Maintain chart of accounts and accounting policies
· Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all transactions
3. Tax Compliance & Statutory Filings (Philippines-Specific)
· Ensure full compliance with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) requirements:
o Monthly VAT / Percentage Tax
o Withholding Taxes (Expanded, Compensation, Final)
o Quarterly Income Tax
o Annual ITR, Alphalists, and SLSP
· Coordinate tax payments and filing deadlines
· Handle BIR audits, LOAs, tax mapping, and reconciliations
· Monitor tax optimization opportunities while ensuring compliance
4. Payroll, Compensation & Government Contributions
· Oversee payroll processing (internal or outsourced)
· Ensure correct computation and timely remittance of:
o SSS
o PhilHealth
o Pag-IBIG
o Withholding tax on compensation
· Validate:
o 13th-month pay
o Final pay & separation pay
o Employee loans, advances, and benefits
· Support HR in payroll-related audits and disputes
5. Treasury & Cash Management
· Manage cash flow forecasting and daily liquidity
· Oversee bank accounts, check releases, and online banking access controls
· Monitor collections and disbursements
· Coordinate with banks on:
o Credit lines
o Corporate / intercompany loans
o Royalty remittances to principals
o FX and international remittances (if applicable)
6. Internal Controls & Risk Management
· Design and enforce internal control policies (SOA, DOA, approvals)
· Ensure segregation of duties within finance processes
· Conduct periodic internal reviews to mitigate financial and compliance risks
· Implement improvements for process efficiency and control gaps
7. Audit & External Coordination
· Act as primary liaison for:
o External auditors
o Tax consultants
o Government agencies (BIR, LGU, SEC)
· Prepare audit schedules, confirmations, and supporting documents
· Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and management letters
8. Regulatory & Corporate Compliance
· Ensure compliance with:
o SEC filings (AFS, GIS)
o LGU permits (Mayor’s Permit, Business Tax)
· Maintain statutory books:
o Books of Accounts
o Stock & Transfer Book (in coordination with Corporate Secretary)
9. Systems, ERP & Process Management
· Oversee finance modules in ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite Oracle)
· Ensure data accuracy and system controls
· Support automation and digitalization initiatives
· Coordinate UATs, enhancements, and user access management
10. People Management & Leadership
· Lead and develop:
o External accountants
o AP/AR specialists
o Internal or external payroll officers
· Set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs
· Enforce discipline, ethics, and confidentiality standards
11. Other Administrative Responsibilities
· Draft and maintain finance SOPs and policies
· Handle ad-hoc finance projects and special assignments
· Ensure proper document retention and record management
· Responsible for handling minor operational and administrative tasks, including checking and processing utility bills, ensuring adequate supply of water, electricity, and internet, and managing the processing of company permits.
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
· Preferably a Certified Public Accountant
· At least 5 years of progressive senior experience in finance and accounting, including leadership or people-management roles.
· Preferably someone from Global Fashion & Sports Retail, Apparel & Fashion Brands and FMCG Companies.
· Familiarity with NetSuite tools is advantageous.
· Strong expertise in IFRS and US & Philippine GAAP, with the ability to ensure full compliance across reporting requirements.
· Expertise in Philippine tax regulations and laws, including:
o Withholding taxes
o International taxation concepts
o Transfer Pricing considerations
· Experience working within an international group of companies, reporting on a monthly basis to regional or global headquarters, and leading the monthly accounting close process within tight deadlines (typically 3–7 days after month-end).
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
· Demonstrated ability to manage financial resources, mitigate risks, and implement effective cost-control measures.
· Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrent assignments, prioritize effectively, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
· Must be dependable, committed, and reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility and a proven ability to consistently deliver high-quality work.
