Position Summary

The Senior Program Acquisition Analyst provides high-level programmatic, analytical, and administrative support to the Department of the Air Force (DAF). This role directly supports complex studies, Science and Technology (S&T) reviews, quarterly board meetings, and acquisition programs, particularly in the Global Reach portfolio. The Analyst must possess demonstrated expertise in project management and research analysis, with substantial experience in the military or government environment. They must be familiar with the DAF organizational construct, have experience working with senior government executives, and maintain a strong understanding of DoD protocols and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Programmatic & Analytical Support

  • Collect, evaluate, and digitally organize files, briefings, reports, and technical documents; prepare materials for publication and presentation.

  • Provide writing and editing support, including drafting, reviewing, and refining technical and policy-related documents.

  • Compile reports and recommendations; support review and approval processes for official publications.

  • Research, analyze, and report on S&T trends, organizational or process issues; recommend actionable solutions.

  • Conduct detailed studies and trend analyses affecting DAF programs, including acquisition and technology development.

  • Support research on OSD/DAF scientific and programmatic studies (e.g., Defense Science Board (DSB), Nuclear Regulatory Committee (NRC), Air Force Studies and Analysis Agency (AFSAA)).

Meeting & Event Planning

  • Develop and maintain a master study schedule, including meetings, milestone dates, participant information, deliverables, and out-brief deadlines.

  • Plan, organize, and execute large events such as S&T reviews, quarterly board meetings, and out-briefs.

  • Manage logistics for attendees, including hotel reservations, transportation, and group meals.

  • Assist with IT and AV support for events (computers, projectors, secure network connections).

Security & Records Management

  • Request and track submission or transfer of security clearance information for personnel.

  • Mark, label, secure, and maintain all classified material in accordance with government regulations.

  • Manage sensitive data and support Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and Mandatory Declassification Review (MDR) cases.

Communication & Liaison

  • Draft briefings, papers, reports, responses to inquiries, descriptive summaries, and meeting minutes for DAF, DoD, MAJCOM, FIELDCOM, Air and Space Staff.

  • Coordinate across divisions to manage stakeholder expectations and ensure accurate communication.

  • Provide executive officer support and staff-level coordination.

Travel & Financial Oversight

  • Propose, track, and report on travel budgets for S&T reviews and study-related travel.

  • Process authorizations and vouchers in the Defense Travel System (DTS).

Portfolio Expertise — Global Reach

  • Provide subject matter support on Global Reach programs, including mobility, aerial refueling, special operations, trainer, and special mission aircraft and related systems.

  • Contribute to integrated product life cycle management and stakeholder collaboration addressing program lifecycle issues.

Additional Duties

  • Perform other closely associated tasks as directed and coordinated with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in program management, research analysis, and government/military support.

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).

  • Must possess TS/SCI clearance. 

  • Experience conducting complex studies and producing analytical reports for senior decision makers.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
