Scion is paving a path in student living and we’re seeking a talented Accounts Receivable Analyst to join us in executing our visionThis position will support a team that strives for efficient and accurate data to drive business decisions. The Accounts Receivable Analyst will perform general accounts receivable and various audit functions with a service-oriented approach. 

The Accounts Receivable Analyst is a strategic leader who excels in a fast-paced, agile, corporate environment. This role demands unrelenting follow-through, a curious nature, versatility, attention to detail, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills.  

This position will be based at our corporate headquarters in Chicago, IL.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of resident accounts, including reviewing for accuracy, researching and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring proper application of operational revenue and accounting procedures. 
  • Lead current and former resident collection efforts, including resident and guarantor communication, managing repayment agreements, and ensuring timely and accurate placement of accounts with third-party collection agencies while maintaining compliance with state and local regulations. 
  • Conduct regularly scheduled audits to identify data discrepancies, correct issues, and verify adherence to company policies, procedures, and workflow standards. 
  • Collaborate with property teams, Legal, Property Accounting, and other departments to resolve account issues, maintain compliance, provide training, and support operational consistency.
  • Review and approve designated resident charges; assist with accounts receivable month-end procedures and support bad debt reporting. 
  • Maintain non-revenue accounts, master agreement ledgers, and retail ledgers, and assist with related inquiries. 
  • Update system settings as needed to reflect policy or procedure changes and ensure accurate reporting and data management. 
  • Prepare and deliver accounts receivable, collections, and operational reports as requested.

What We Require

  • College graduate with 1-2 years of post-baccalaureate work experience in Real Estate or Property Management; experience with accounts receivable is a plus. 
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; experience with PMS systems such as Entrata is a plus.
  • Manages multiple projects and meets goals and deadlines timely and consistently. 
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Works well with all levels of management.
  • Works well independently and as a member of various teams.
  • Proactive by nature and successfully manages competing priorities; requires minimal guidance to accomplish general tasks. 

Operational Details

  • Job location is based at Scion’s Chicago corporate headquarters.
  • Working hours consist of standard daytime business hours.

The base salary range for this full-time position is base + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
