ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES - As our Accounting Specialist, you support the Accounting team. You will coordinate with various teams and locations to support the accounting functions of the department. This position reports to our Director of Accounting. Your duties will include the following:

  • Enter data across payor types
  • Bill entities weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly as required.
  • Compile, process, and track payment authorizations
  • Support the receivables process
  • Develop SOPs for the department
  • Support month-end and year-end close
  • Provide bookkeeping and/or reconciliation assistance
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry/payor regulatory requirements

  • Demonstrate strong commitment to compliance
  • Knowledge of best practices for handling PHI in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Administrative specialty in related field – whether accounting, customer service, scheduling, billing, IT, project management, leadership, sales, marketing, business development, medical scheduling, staffing, care coordinator or coordination, recruiting, talent acquisition, compliance, office manager or management, business manager or management, human resources, or operations a bonus
  • Experience in assisted living, facility, nursing home, or in home care a bonus
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills for addressing complex issues, such as payment discrepancies.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, industry regulations, and financial numeracy. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, or a related field and five years of accounting or finance experience.
