We are currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager to join our Finance Team based in Athens.

The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain compliance with local and international accounting standards, and support strategic financial decision-making. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, leadership, analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage and mentor a team of accountants.

Your Key Responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage and supervise the accounting team, including assigning tasks, reviewing work, and providing guidance and training.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, local regulations).
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax processes.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and support treasury operations.
  • Coordinate and support annual audits (internal and external) and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and safeguard company assets.
  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to senior management for business planning and decision-making.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with finance leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including tax filings, VAT, and other local obligations.
  • Lead or support ERP/accounting system improvements and automation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Accounting & Finance graduate studies from a top-tier University (Master’s degree or professional certification such as ACCA are highly appreciated)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (IFRS/GAAP and local requirements)
  • 7+ years of overall combined Accounting, Controlling and Financial Reporting experience with:

- overviewing all accounting procedures (ie A/P, A/R & GL)

- financial reporting under GR GAAP / IFRS (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements and other financial notes)

- at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role

  • Excellent command of the English language both written and oral
  • Experience in the use of ERP systems
  • Advanced organization and administration skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct and supervise
  • Efficiency in communication and collaboration across teams & functions
