Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager that is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines. This person should have strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, experience with quarter-end and year-end close, and the ability to independently manage complex reconciliations, journal entries, reporting schedules, and audit requests. This role also requires a mindset for continuous improvement, including strengthening close processes, enhancing documentation, and improving the efficiency of key accounting workflows.
What you'll do:
- Lead key aspects of general ledger accounting by serving as a primary reviewer across various month-end and quarterly close activities.
- Own the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analyses in areas that may include fixed assets, prepaid expenses, vendor accruals, payroll, cash and investments.
- Partner cross-functionally with teams including Finance, Payroll, Legal, and Operations to resolve accounting matters that support close, reporting, and audit needs.
- Support and operate within the company’s internal controls framework, with a focus on SOX compliance and control documentation.
- Identify opportunities to refine and streamline accounting processes, strengthen controls, and leverage AI, automation, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability.

- Close processes are executed accurately, timely, and with strong ownership across assigned areas.
- Journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting analyses are prepared with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Controls and documentation are consistently maintained at a high standard and support a public-company SOX environment.
- Processes become more efficient, scalable, and better enabled through automation and AI-driven improvements.
What you're great at:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or related field.
- Hold an active CPA license (preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably a combination of public accounting and industry experience.
- Excellent working knowledge and practical understanding of US GAAP principles.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, drive resolution, and improve processes.
- Communicate clearly and directly, including with non-accounting partners.
- Curiosity about new technologies and a demonstrated interest in using AI and automation to enhance accounting processes.
- Excellent relationship building skills.
- Ability to work through items that have no template.
- SOX knowledge, systems knowledge, technical accounting knowledge, general accounting knowledge.

The base salary range for this role is $110,000-$140,000, depending on levels of skills and experience.
The base salary range represents the low and high end of CLEAR’s salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors which include, but are not limited to location, education, skills, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of CLEAR’s total compensation package for employees and other rewards may include annual bonuses, commission, Restricted Stock Units
