Accounting Manager

TLDR

Be the driving force behind Builder.io's accounting operations, managing workflows and leveraging innovative tools to enhance efficiency in a rapidly scaling startup environment.

Builder.io is hiring an Accounting Manager to help build and scale our accounting operations. This role will own key accounting workflows, support the monthly close, and help transition processes currently handled by external consultants into our internal finance team. You’ll work closely with the Sr Accounting Manager and Head of Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting and help build efficient, scalable, next-generation accounting processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Own core accounting workflows, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and revenue-related processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP.
  • Own and execute key components of the month-end close process, including preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and general ledger activity to support internal reporting and decision-making.
  • Support financial audits and tax compliance, preparing documentation and schedules as needed.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support growth initiatives and ensure accounting processes scale effectively with the business.
  • Leverage AI, automation, and modern finance tools to improve accounting workflows and efficiency.

You Will Thrive in This Role If…

  • You have 5-7 years of accounting experience in a startup, SaaS company, public accounting firm, or consulting environment.
  • You have a strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals.
  • You are comfortable working with general ledger systems, with experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO) preferred.
  • You have experience with invoicing, bill pay, collections, and expense management workflows.
  • You are detail-oriented and comfortable working in a startup environment, and enjoy solving problems amidst ambiguity in a fast-paced setting.
  • You have demonstrated interest in or experience with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT or Claude) that help improve workflows and reduce manual work.

The items above are a starting point for a conversation, not a hard list of requirements. If this role excites you, we hope you will apply!

The base salary range for this role is $115,000 - $140,000 USD. This role is also eligible for meaningful company equity and benefits. This position is fully remote and open to candidates in multiple locations. Compensation may vary by country and local market and will be discussed early in the interview process. Final offer amounts are determined based on experience, role-related knowledge, skills, and abilities.

About Builder.io:

Builder.io is pioneering the space between design and development, creating a new category of Visual Development Platform that transforms how teams build digital products.

Our Visual Copilot technology bridges the gap between Figma designs and production code, enabling teams to build interactive features using natural language while working with their actual code, data, and APIs. Alongside our code generation capabilities, our CMS empowers organizations to skip code generation altogether and publish updates to any live site or app in a couple clicks.

Trusted by leading mid-market to enterprise-level companies like JCrew, Vimeo, and Anheuser Busch, we're focused on eliminating the traditional bottlenecks between design, development, and content management.

Builder.io is committed to growing an inclusive and diverse team. We are an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran, genetic information, marital status or any other legally protected status.
