This individual contributor role is responsible for executing and reviewing core accounting activities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and maintaining strong close, reporting, and control processes. The role reports to the VP of Finance and serves as a key accounting owner during the interim period.  This position is well-suited for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in an execution-oriented environment, can operate independently, and is comfortable stepping in to support the accounting team where required.  What You’ll Do
  • Month-End & Quarter-End Close 
  • Execute and oversee month-end close processes in accordance with US GAAP 
  • Prepare and review journal entries 
  • Perform and review balance sheet and key P&L account fluctuations 
  • Ensure close timelines are met with a high degree of accuracy and documentation 

  • Accounting Review & Oversight 
  • Review accounting working papers and schedules prepared by other team members for completeness and accuracy 
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures 

  • Controls, Compliance & Audit 
  • Support internal and external audit activities, including PBC requests and audit inquiries 
  • Partner with the VP of Finance to address complex or judgmental accounting matters 

  • Cross-Functional & Operational Support 
  • Collaborate with FP&A, payroll, tax, and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting of financial data 
  • Support ERP and accounting system processes and help resolve system-related issues 
  • Document key accounting processes to support continuity and knowledge transfer 

  • Ad Hoc Projects 
  • Support special accounting initiatives as needed (e.g., system enhancements, policy updates, transaction support) 
  • Provide interim leadership coverage on accounting matters during the contract period 
  • What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience 
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for month end and quarter end close in a U.S. GAAP reporting environment 
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and disclosure requirements 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting audit intensive environments, including external audit readiness and rigor around documentation and controls. Public company experience considered an asset 
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex accounting areas, including revenue recognition, accruals, and estimates requiring professional judgment 
  • Proven ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and meet demanding reporting timelines 
  • High level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and disciplined documentation practices 
  • Nice to Have Skills
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification 
  • Experience with publicly traded or private equity backed organizations with experience in attention to details and rapid pace 
  • Hands on experience with NetSuite and financial close management tools (e.g., FloQast) 
  • Experience in technology, SaaS, or recurring revenue business models 
  • Experience collaborating with external auditors, legal, tax, and advisory teams in preparation for capital markets or transaction related activities

Please note that the actual compensation may vary depending on location and job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills.
