Role Summary

As Fanatics Collectibles continues to expand across Greater China, we are seeking a Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting to support statutory accounting, external financial reporting, and audit coordination for the region. This role is primarily focused on financial reporting, technical accounting, and compliance, and works closely with both local operations team and the global controllership organization.

The ideal candidate brings strong Big Four audit or accounting advisory experience, solid technical accounting skills, and hands-on experience with statutory financial statements and group reporting in a multinational environment. This is a strong opportunity for candidates transitioning from Big Four audit/accounting services into an in-house reporting role. This is a full time role, in the designated office 5 days per week.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting

  • Coordinate with external accounting providers to prepare statutory financial statements for Greater China entities under PRC GAAP (ASBE) ensuring alignment with U.S. GAAP group reporting requirements.
  • Review outputs prepared by external providers, including financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules, for technical accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and review group reporting packages, including disclosures and technical analyses.
  • Support interpretation and application of group accounting policies, escalating complex matters to regional or global controllership as appropriate.
  • Support technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, inventory, intercompany transactions, and foreign currency accounting.

Audit, Compliance & Controls

  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit requests, schedules, and documentation.
  • Prepare audit deliverables, technical memos, and responses to audit queries.
  • Support compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements across Greater China.
  • Assist with SOX-aligned internal controls, including documentation and audit support.
  • Coordinate with tax teams on VAT, CIT, withholding tax, and transfer pricing matters from a reporting and disclosure perspective.

Accounting Oversight & Close Support

  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes with a focus on accuracy, judgmental areas, and reporting quality.
  • Review selected balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and analytical P&L commentary.
  • Partner with local accounting teams or external service providers to ensure consistency and timeliness of reporting outputs.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Contribute to reporting process improvements, close optimization initiatives, and documentation enhancements.
  • Support ERP and reporting systems (Oracle, D365, SAP, NetSuite), particularly around reporting structures and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain and update accounting SOPs and reporting documentation.

Business & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Support regional finance leadership by explaining financial results, accounting judgments, and audit findings.
  • Assist with cross-border and intercompany transactions from a reporting and compliance perspective.
  • Participate in ad hoc analyses, technical research, and special projects as the business grows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred).
  • 6 - 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including ~5 years in Big Four audit or accounting advisory services.
  • Strong experience in external audit, statutory reporting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Solid knowledge of PRC GAAP (ASBE) and IFRS; working knowledge of U.S. GAAP preferred.
  • CPA, ACCA, CICPA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting external audits and resolving technical accounting matters.
  • ERP and reporting systems exposure (Oracle, D365, SAP, NetSuite).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English required.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
