What's the Short Version?

The Accounting Clerk II is responsible for supporting accounting activities, including compiling, sorting, and preparing documents and reports, bookkeeping, calculating and verifying debit and credit amounts, and posting transactions to appropriate accounts. This is a part-time role, typically scheduled for up to 10 hours per week, and not more than 15 hours per week.

 

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Assist various accounting functions within the accounting department, including indirect tax, account payables, general accounting, and financial statistics reporting to various government agencies.
  • Code invoices to general ledger accounts.
  • Process transactions and update ledgers.
  • Prepare reports and check for accuracy.
  • Assist with month end closing, fact checks, resolving discrepancies, gathering and analyzing information.
  • Perform basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

 

What Are We Looking For?

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience Preferred
  • 1-3 years supporting an accounting function
  • Intermediate (e.g., vlookup, pivot tables) excel and word skills
  • Familiarity with basic Accounting principles
  • Professional manner and strong ethical code
  • A proven self-starter with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to dive deep
  • Communicate confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner - verbally and in written form
  • Ability to work as a cooperative and collaborative member of the team
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping concepts, accruals, debit/credit journal entries and practices

 

What Should You Expect?

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions. 

SanMar's Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required.
