About the role
As the Accounting Assistant / Graduate Accountant at Splend, you will be responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the finance team. The role requires working to tight deadlines to ensure invoices are processed in time for payment. A key function of the role is the ability to assist with operational support and queries relating to customers and suppliers, as well as support the finance team with shared deadlines, analysis, and validating customers, suppliers and adjustments. Other tasks include processing discount coupons, supplier payment reconciliations, expense management and invoice processing, in addition to assisting with general reporting and month-end/year-end tasks. This role reports into our AU Finance Manager and is based out of our Haymarket, Sydney office.
Responsibilities
Preparation of bank reconciliations for all AU bank accounts throughout the month
Preparation of month-end balance sheet reconciliations such as Bank, Fixed asset registers, and more
Assisting with month end and year end close (including audit support)
Processing supplier invoices and purchase orderson a timely manner
Processing company card transactions and reconciling in accounting software
Assisting operations with transactions in customer sales
Any ad-hoc tasks that are required
What you'll bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (must have)
Minimum 1year accounting experience (desired)
Experience with NetSuite accounting software or Xero (desired)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Strong attention to detail
Understanding of accounting concepts
Computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages
