The Accountant will be responsible for performing and coordinating general accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and supporting regulatory compliance primarily for Shift4 Limited.

A successful candidate will combine excellent analytical skills with a solid knowledge of accounting principles be a hands-on, goal-oriented professional who is highly organized, proactive, able to work independently, and capable of performing under pressure.

Responsibilities will include

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting workings.
  • Perform internal control processes to support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.
  • Assist in monthly cost assurance and variance analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Assist with financial regulatory reporting, and compliance with local and international reporting requirements.
  • Support the preparation of audit deliverables, financial projections, and Board packs.
  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Assist with improvements and automation of internal processes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial treatment of transactions.
  • Support the finance function with ad hoc analysis and reporting.

 

Requirements

  • ACCA qualification (or equivalent) or a Master’s degree in Accountancy.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience, ideally gained in an Accounting Firm (audit experience preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS standards and experience in financial reporting.
  • Experience with tax, VAT, or regulatory reporting requirements is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications with strong experience in Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver within deadlines.
  • Ambition to enhance knowledge and adapt to a rapidly changing and dynamic environment.
  • Proven problem-solving ability and attention to detail, with a balance of technical accounting expertise.

 

Compensation:

Shift4 applies a structured, market-informed approach to compensation. 

Salary ranges are developed based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, such as internal job levels, scope of responsibilities, and external market data. The range listed for this position reflects the expected hiring range for qualified candidates and corresponds to the level and requirements of the role.

Actual compensation may vary depending on various factors, such as experience, skills, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Shift4’s compensation structures are subject to periodic review and ongoing alignment across regions. Additional components such as variable remuneration or other benefits may also apply based on eligibility and role type.

Salary Range: € 47,000 - € 52,000
