With the Athens office being one of the largest, hosting around 640 employees working from the center of Athens for the rest of the world. 

Position Summary

We are looking for an Accountant to support our Accounting Department with focus on general ledger accounting and VAT reporting. The ideal candidate will be based in Athens and report to the Accounting Manager and also collaborate with the global teams in Sweden, India and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data, prepare and post journal entries with regards to revenue, cost of goods sold and various operational expenses.
• Support month end and year end processes.
• Post accruals and follow up with the reversal and/or release of them.
• Document and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts according to internal processes
• Prepare VAT returns
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Suggest automations on existent processes
• Be responsible for payroll processes and full Profit and Loss statements of the assigned entities
• Collaborate with external local consultants for statutory purposes of the assigned entities
• Provide data, documentation and clarification to internal and external auditors 

Requirements

• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
• 3+ years previous experience in accounting roles
• Advanced MS Excel skills and/or Gsheets
• Proficiency level in English
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements and In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Previous experience on VAT reconciliation and preparation of returns
• Dynamic personality, creative, innovative, with excellent organization, time management and communication skills
• Experience in external statutory audits will be considered as a plus
• Experience in working in an international group with IC transactions will be considered as an asset
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong oral and written communication skills
