Account Manager for Emissions Control provides commercial leadership for large, complex accounts, mainly operating as coal fire utilities or in cement industry. In this role, you will plan and facilitate sales to these key accounts, develop and maintain relationships, identify new opportunities, and manage overall account activities. 

You will work across the US and Canada. Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement corporate account strategies using a broad understanding of Norit’s services. Negotiate and administer customer contracts to maximize profitability. Provide commercial leadership for corporate accounts in the United States/Canada and coordinate specific marketing, manufacturing, capital investments and quality actions.
  • Drive both current and future value for Norit by building a shared understanding of the individual customer and overall portfolio profitability and focus on where Norit can differentiate itself at the interface with the customer.
  • Develop broad contacts throughout the customer’s organization. Maintain customer profiles for competitive analysis. Represent accounts internally and externally to the highest professional standards. Understand and respond to customer needs for existing and new products (i.e. pricing, product availability and quality).
  • Communicate customer goals and objectives with involved stakeholders. Facilitate, coordinate and manage Norit communications with the customer.
  • Monitor competitive activity in each account and ensure that appropriate response strategies are formulated.
  • Work with internal teams to monitor accounts receivable to meet corporate initiatives and handles daily account issues.
  • Assist in developing the business case for key customer programs such as continuous improvement, quality, new product service initiatives and capital investments.
  • Provide business perspective to management of accounts via monthly reports.
  • Meet with Key Accounts on a frequent basis to maintain current accounts and to develop new accounts.
  • Consistently work with Salesforce.com for maintaining up to date “living documents”.

Requirements

  • University degree in Business/Engineering/Chemistry/Environmental, MBA will be an advantage.
  • 7+ years of experience in Corporate Key Account management and contracting experience (review and negotiations) in chemical industry is mandatory.
  • Knowledgeable of the Electric Utility Coal Fire and Cement plant markets and applications in which Norit products add value, and able to effectively capture the value.
  • Ability to effectively engage in verbal and written communications that are timely, direct, concise, clear and relevant and delivered with appropriate style and tone.
  • Track record of maintaining fruitful relationships with key customers, resulting in business growth.
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility, ability to work independently and drive for desired result.
