Your Focus: 
We are seeking a driven and highly experienced Hunter Account Executive based in Houston, TX, specializing in selling AI+BI solutions with the Mosaic semantic layer. This role is focused on acquiring new logos and expanding our presence within the Energy & Utilities sector. You will drive growth by delivering tailored data, analytics, and AI solutions to organizations seeking to unlock actionable insights across their enterprise.

Location: Houston, TX (local presence required).
Travel: Up to 30% (client meetings, events, industry conferences).

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting & Lead Generation:

  • Aggressively target and identify new business opportunities within Energy & Utilities, spanning oil & gas, power generation, renewables, and midstream/downstream segments.

  • Generate new logo leads through strategic outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events specific to your territory and sector.

  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of prospects interested in next-generation AI-powered BI and semantic layer capabilities.

Solution Selling:

  • Engage with C-suite, data, and technology decision-makers to deeply understand their analytics infrastructure, operational challenges, and AI aspirations.

  • Articulate the unique value proposition of Mosaic’s universal semantic layer and our integrated AI+BI platform.

  • Deliver compelling sales presentations and tailored product demos, highlighting industry-specific use cases—including predictive maintenance, asset optimization, and real-time reporting.

Deal Management & Closing:

  • Own the sales cycle from initial engagement to contract negotiation and close.

  • Navigate and overcome complex procurement processes and stakeholder objections to win new business.

  • Meet or exceed quarterly sales targets by closing high-impact deals with Energy & Utility organizations.

Market Intelligence & Strategy:

  • Develop and share market intelligence, sector trends, and customer feedback to inform go-to-market and product strategy for our AI+BI solutions.

  • Partner in refining sales strategies to address the rapidly evolving analytics needs of the Energy & Utilities landscape.

Collaboration & Reporting:

  • Collaborate with sales engineers, product specialists, and customer success to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing satisfaction for new clients.

  • Maintain detailed records of pipeline activities, opportunities, and forecasting in CRM (e.g., Salesforce).

  • Provide regular reporting and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or relevant field preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of successful enterprise software sales experience, with a focus on BI, analytics, AI, or semantic layer technologies; Energy & Utilities sector experience highly favored.

  • Hunter mentality demonstrated by consistent generation and closure of new business.

  • Exceptional executive-level communication, presentation, negotiation, and solution mapping skills.

  • Ability to thrive independently and deliver results in a fast-paced, pioneering team environment.

  • CRM proficiency (Salesforce or similar); familiarity with sales enablement, engagement, and reporting tools.

  • Bonus: Experience selling solutions involving cloud platforms, advanced analytics, big data (Hadoop/Spark), data warehousing, or industrial IoT.
