As a 3D Software Engineering Leader, you will   

• Oversee production workflows, managing resources and balancing workloads to meet deadlines and budget constraints.  
• Collaborate with architecture teams to ensure platforms and products are scalable, modular, and technically aligned with IKEA’s strategies.  
• Maintain and enforce quality standards across all 3D disciplines and ensure technical excellence.  
• Promote best practices in both engineering and production workflows, driving innovation in technology and processes.  
• Guide teams with extensive knowledge of IKEA’s business model to improve information flow and ensure alignment with technical goals.  
• Lead onboarding and skill development for new engineers and team members, supporting the building of a future-ready team.  
• Advocate for security and engineering best practices across the organization.  
• Explore and implement new technologies to enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability.  
• Set strategic engineering priorities, co-create technical roadmaps, and optimize the delivery of products.  
• Represent IKEA’s technology both internally and externally in the broader market. 

To be successful in this role, we expect you have   

• Proven experience as a senior or lead SW Engineering role with hands-on CAD and 3D development experience.  
• Expertise in 3D software and related development, with a deep understanding of CAD, PLM, PDM and downstream computer graphics asset utilization for offline and real-time rendering.  
• Experience with CAD workflows and product development and lifecycle pipelines, including tools such as Revit, SolidWorks, CATIA, Clo3D and general understanding 3D Digital Content Creation (DCC) tools (e.g.Blender, Maya, 3DS Max or similar).  
• Good understanding of CAD conversion and Polygon tessellation solutions and SDK´s. 
• Knowledge of Pixar’s USD (Universal Scene Description) and MaterialX structure is a plus.  
• General understanding of 3D asset creation processes for downstream utilization in CG, including texturing, lighting, rigging, and posing.  
• Familiarity with technologies and languages such as Java, Javascript, .NET, VBA, C#, C++, Python OpenAPI.  
• A DevOps mindset to ensure the smooth operation of business-critical applications.  
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working with Agile development teams.  
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, manage expectations, and meet deadlines.  
• Excellent communication, time management, and presentation skills.  
• Fluency in English for effective global communication.

This is a full-time position located in Malmö with occasional travel to Älmhult to support business needs.
