Position Title: 310T TRUCK AND COACH MECHANIC
POSITION GOAL: To work in a fleet based environment on both long term and short term preventative maintenance mechanical applications on public transit passenger buses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Mechanical repairs involving all operational systems for a transit bus or highway coach. Experience in diagnostics using Ladder Logic, Vansco, WABCO and Cummins Onsite is essential. Must be able to work well independently and/or as part of a team. Electric and hybrid experience is also an asset.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Diversity is key. Demonstrate the interest to learn all necessary skills in all aspects of bus heavy mechanical and refurbishment repair.
•Ensure your output is consistent with process flow and execution to meet completion dates as set out by the Shop Manager.
•Work with other technicians to ensure the execution of quality and safe work and apply work rules and company policy in all aspects of operations.
•Work in co-operation with the shop supervisor to ensure the throughput is consistent with process flow and execution to meet completion dates as set out by the Shop Manager.
•Assist and report pre and post work inspections to the shop supervisor ensuring the highest level of quality and maintaining OEM installation standards.

•Demonstrate comradery in all aspects of duties and quickly discern and disengage from activities that are not work related during the course of meetings and conversations with other employees, vendors and customers.
•Maintain workplace organization and ensure workshop cleanliness.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education (Required Education Only)
•High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical School Certificate preferred).
Experience/Knowledge (Required Experience / Knowledge Only)
•3+ years’ experience in truck and coach industry.
Specific Job Skills (e.g., computer skills, communication, motivation, organizational skills)
•Expertise with diagnostics software and Heavy Mechanical Repairs.
310T Licensed Mechanic or 3rd-4th year apprentice.
•Ability to complete multiple tasks independently.

Salary range:
Apprentice: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour (dependent on level of schooling completed)
Journeyperson/licensed Techs: $34.00 and $37.00 per hour (depending on experience)
