2026 Apprenticeship Program 

The MKD Electric Apprenticeship Program is a hands-on training program specifically focused on industrial electrical work. It is certified by the US Department of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship Training. Apprenticeship training lasts for 5 years, covering all aspects of industrial electrical installation and maintenance. At the end of the apprenticeship, all participants are certified through The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), and by the Department of Labor.

There are many exciting career paths available at MKD Electric, and they all begin with the apprenticeship program. Apprenticeship classes meet daily for the first 6 weeks, then thereafter 1 night a week for 4 years, along with on-the-job training and practical experience gained through regular work.

The Physical demands described within are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Must be able to remain stationary position for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift to 60 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
• Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
• Requires standing for extended period with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors.
