We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Assistant to support the existing MGA team across both underwriting and claims functions. The role will involve close collaboration with underwriters, claims specialists, and other internal teams to ensure smooth administration, accurate data capture, and efficient processing of data in various formats.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise and collaborate daily with Underwriting and Claims teams within the MGA division across multiple offices.
- Review and analyze initial claim notifications, allocating them to the appropriate team members.
- Perform monthly claims bordereau checks to ensure MGAs are reporting claims within their delegated authorities.
- Monitor claims through their lifecycle’s ensuring MGA’s are providing updates within their set timelines.
- Manage the team mailbox, ensuring all correspondence is directed to the correct MGA.
- Oversee claims portals, ensuring claims are routed accurately to the relevant MGA.
- Assist with the preparation of MGA claims audits.
- Perform underwriting bordereau checks to ensure MGAs are not writing policies or products which are outside the limits of their delegated authorities, for example writing a policy for longer than is allowed or in a territory that is not authorized under our agreement with the MGA.
- Assist with production of underwriting packs and MI
- Assist with the preparation of MGA audits, particularly underwriting audits.
- Attend MGA performance review meetings and be responsible for recording minutes and actions.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks to support both underwriting and claims teams
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within insurance or reinsurance, with a relevant educational background.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with claims and underwriting systems is advantageous.
- Ability and willingness to collaborate effectively across teams and offices.

- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting effectively at all levels.
