The Corporate Actuarial Data & Technology Team is a dynamic, growing team at Arch. This team implements innovative insurance pricing models and analytical tools to improve profitability and growth across a wide range of Property & Casualty insurance products.

The Implementation Engineer will implement the platform supporting real-time rating engines that calculate insurance premiums. They will be responsible for the creation, design, development, and continuous improvement of implementation services in accordance with established organizational goals and deliverables. They provide technical guidance and ensure the use of sound engineering practices. As a key member of the Corporate Actuarial Data & Technology data engineering team, they will advance our implementation capabilities and help our team deliver solutions faster.

• Create and support best-in-class real time rating implementations leveraging a diverse
  set of tools
• Work with strategic partners to solve business problems by developing implementation
  solutions
• Configure and maintain optimal cloud infrastructure
• Create and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for rating engine and API deployment
• Implement a thorough and reusable logging framework across all rating implementations
• Provide the appropriate level of documentation of sources and technical solutions
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements
• Build strong partnerships with peers across the organization to support implementationrelated goals
• Explore new technologies with curiosity and creativity

• The ideal candidate has 3+ years of software engineering experience working with Python, SQL, and web application frameworks such as Django
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production REST APIs
• Knowledge of HTTP/S protocol, including requests, responses, and status codes
• Ability to apply common data structures and algorithms
• Excellent critical thinking skills to tackle complex engineering challenges
• Strong organizational skills and very detail oriented
• Exceptional collaboration and relationship building skills
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment
• Comfortable adapting to changing priorities and refining ambiguous requirements
• Ability to effectively communicate to different target audiences
