Position Summary:

Interns will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge artificial intelligence, mobile computing and/or security technologies, propose and develop the next-generation intelligent solutions for Samsung Knox products and services.

Responsibilities Include:

• Explore and define the research problem for customer requirements and Samsung products
• Develop the technology and create the solution to solve the defined problem
• Demonstrate the feasibility and usability of solutions by developing quick prototypes and proof-of-concepts
• Design experiments, perform evaluations, and apply enhancements to our products
• Publish research results in top venues and/or file patents

Experience Requirements:

• PhD students in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering or relevant fields.
• Solid background in one or more fields of machine/deep/reinforcement/federated learning, mobile computing, AI security and privacy.
• Proficiency in at least one of deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, and etc.
• Hands-on experience in building deep/machine learning application/solutions.
• Publication record in top conferences in related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise/experience in ubiquitous sensing using mobile and/or wearable devices.
• Expertise/experience in NER, Ontology, knowledge graph creation and inference.
• Expertise/experience in mobile-based localization/navigation and related topics.
• Expertise/experience in human/device behavior modeling, prediction and authentication.
• Expertise/experience in learning optimization for resource-constrained devices.
• Expertise/experience in building and analyzing distributed learning system that is suitable for resource-constrained devices.
• Expertise/experience in attack and defense of machine/deep learning on device.
• Expertise/experience in 3D graphics and rendering.
• Expertise/experience in cross-areas for AI and other emerging technologies.

Our total rewards programs are designed to motivate and engage exceptional talent. The hourly pay rate range for roles at this level is $48 and $70 but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Within the hourly pay rate range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training.
