Sigma Defense is currently seeking a PMW 160 Futures Capabilities WAN Engineer to support the design of Navy networks. Specifics tasks include: Development of network topologies and templates from system requirements, development of network templates and IP plans, development of test plans and documentation, and configuration and documentation of SDWAN solutions.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience supporting the engineering of Information Technology systems for a DoD or Government Agency and the specific LCAT requirements the candidates is proposed under. 
  • 3+ years of experience developing technical documentation.
  • Proven track record of performance in client facing roles that require engagement and relationship building with stakeholders across Navy programs, the DoD, or other federal agencies.
  • Experience with SDN/ SD-WAN Technologies and vendors including VMware, NSX-T, Cisco, Juniper, and open-source solutions.
  • Experience with network configuration for L2/L3 switches, routers, and security appliances (firewalls, NIDS, NIPS, etc).
  • Experience developing and documenting network topologies.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and restoring network and system outages.
  • Experience in virtualization technologies.
  • CCNP (or equivalent) certification.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Candidate Differentiators:

  • Experience with RF communications, specifically MILSATCOM or COMSATCOM technologies.
  • Experience leveraging NetDevOps or DevSecOps to scale enterprise level engineering projects.
  • Experience with Network Automation in Python, Ansible, NETCONF, and/or RESTCONF.
  • Experience modeling network configuration in JSON, YAML, or Jinja.
  • Experience developing and maturing complex, collaborative networking projects and working autonomously to move network development forward.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, or related field of study.
  • Other Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/training may be substituted for (i) 4 additional years experience supporting the engineering of Information Technology systems for a DoD or Government Agency (for a total of 10 years).*and* (ii) 3 years experience supporting the engineering of DoD Afloat Network systems (CANES, ADNS, ISNS, CENTRIXS, SCI Networks, SUBLAN, and/or COMPOSE). 

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Development of network topologies and templates from system requirements.
  • Development of network templates and IP plans.
  • Development of test plans and documentation.
  • Configuration and documentation of SDWAN solutions. 

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 annually.
