Knitting Supervisor
Reports to:
Plant Manager
Job Duties:
Ensures compliance to Safety rules and regulations including personal protective equipment, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and SDS book training and availability.
Responsible for all aspects of the knitting and range operations including safety, quality, delivery(productivity), and maintenance activity.
Supervises the activities of the assigned leads and employees in the knitting and range areas to achieve the production schedule (meeting customer demand)
Collaborate with the Plant Manager and Scheduler to establish employee schedules to execute the production plan.
Responsible for working with HR to interview, hire, and train new employees.
Supervises adherence to policies /work methods and utilizes progressive discipline (including termination of employment) as appropriate.
Monitors the Preventative Maintenance Program, assuring that knitting and range equipment are properly maintained for efficient production and PM schedules are met.
Keeps proper records of production employees including time sheets, training documentation, and performance reviews.
Understands the basics of Lean Manufacturing and utilizes a continuous improvement mindset to identify improvements.
Expected to drive development of employees including cross-training and mentoring.
Assures ISO procedures in Knitting are maintained, administered, and all documentation is completed according to written procedures.
Performs any other jobs or duties as determined by the Plant Manager.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
• HS Diploma or GED
• 2-4 years of Leadership or Supervisory Experience
• Manufacturing Experience
• Good Communication Skills
• Comfortable in a Collaborative Environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Textile Manufacturing Experience
• Knitting Experience
• Lean Manufacturing understanding/experience
