- SEAKR is looking to hire, or grow, a cable and interconnect SME to design, manage, and support all aspects of our GSE cable needs.
- The primary job duty is the design of cable assemblies and interconnects which meet the requirements of the interface standard for use in SEAKR's GSE applications including EMI testing to MIL-STD-461 and TVAC testing to ASTM E595. This entails interfacing with other groups to ensure the functionality and manufacturability of design approaches, selecting appropriate materials for the application, capturing the design in our toolset, and managing drawings through the release process for assemblies, as well as maintaining bill of materials for assemblies.
- Other technical duties include the electrical review and oversight of electrical interconnects to ensure successful operation in terms of signal integrity, skew, line loss, interface standard compliance, shielding, as well as other application specific concerns.
- Provide technical management of COTS vendors from interconnect requirements on orders to data verification upon receipt of product
- Support outsource cable assembly vendors with technical support
- Assist in house manufacturing with documentation, tooling, and technical support
- Design cable assemblies for flight applications to customer requirements
- Assist in the improvement and documentation of SEAKR processes
- Coordinate scheduling with program leadership
- A prime candidate would have an electrical education and a mechanical aptitude: EE grads, AAS grads, or 5+ years for technicians. Open to entry level applicants.
- Familiarity with basic transmission line and differential signaling concepts is required.
- Familiar with Solidworks electrical, or similar CAD software, for cable schematics and design.
- Knowledge of various signal and communication standards, such as RS-232, RS-422, Serial Rapid I/O (SRIO), XAUI, Ethernet, SpaceWire (ECSS-E-ST-50-12), telemetry, MIL-STD-1553, Low Voltage Digital Signaling (LVDS), and SGMII.
- Familiar with Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) for collecting S-parameter data on PCBs, RF, and High-Speed cables, as well as the ability to analyze data to determine link budgets.
- Familiar with requirements and quality standards such as NASA-STD-8739.4 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 is a plus
- Familiar with fiber optic cabling, including wire types, contacts, and connectors for space flight is a plus.
Compensation: Base pay range is $75,000-120,000 depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
