Weatherford is hiring a Wireline Operator for our Fort Worth facility. This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you will be repairing and maintaining equipment for the oil and gas industry. Duties & Responsibilities: (not listed in any particular order)
- Operate overhead crane and/or forklift.
- Clean, service, and maintain logging tools, and equipment as required by supervisor.
- Available on a 24 hour basis to respond to customer needs.
- Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- Utilize Wireline documentation and other online training systems.
- Assist Field Engineers and Lab Technicians in shop duties, and housekeeping.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Wireline operations policies & procedures, which include Radiation, Pressure Control, rig up, and preventative maintenance.
- Perform tasks associated with a typical Wireline job, which include planning and preparation, load-out and backload, pre job maintenance, post job maintenance, rigging, clean-up and basic maintenance of tools, equipment, CML and BHA units.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to assist basic wireline services at the location, which may include tools and equipment in some or all of the following technology groups: Auxiliary & Conveyance, Casing Integrity, Acquisition & Software, Fleet & Surface Support, Nuclear- Porosity/Lithology.
- Learn how to perform Wireline cable re-heads, and preventative maintenance.
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to perform various Wireline functions including basic depth control, and tension.
- Drive Weatherford vehicles and pull trailers as required to perform the job.
- Maintain equipment, facilities and work locations in a presentable and working condition.
- Maintain up-to-date practices and promptly report issues, hazards and best practices to the supervisor.
- 4+ years related field experience preferred
- High School diploma (or Secondary School Diploma or equivalent) as minimum.
- Wireline service knowledge preferred
- Mechanical ability necessary to perform repairs
- Valid Driver license Required
- Valid DOT License Required
- Class A CDL Required
- Hazmat endorsement preferred
- Basic Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel computer skills
- Self-motivator, self-starter
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to follow instructions
- Able to work closely with fellow employees
- Must have the abilty to work in the field.
- Some overnight and out of state field work
