We are searching for talented, experienced welders to join our welding team at Northern Tool + Equipment Manufacturing! Join our team as we continue to build the highest quality pressure washers, generators, trailers and more for NTE's owned NorthStar brand.

The interview process for this role will include an onsite welding test. 

The pay range for this position is $24.50 - $28.50/hour. T
he work schedule is Monday - Thursday, 6:00AM - 4:30PM, with overtime primarily worked on Fridays.


PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

To efficiently produce high quality products through wire feed welding. To gain the knowledge, skill and ability to increase welding level.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  1. Produces high quality Northern Tool products through wire feed welding.
  2. Sets up and operates various welding equipment.
  3. Works towards and assists others in meeting direct labor utilization goals.
  4. Moves product through the factory using Kanban.
  5. Actively participates in tiered accountability process.
  6. Troubleshoots welding machine as needed.
  7. Drives forklift to move product as needed.
  8. Keeps a safe work environment and reports safety observations.
  9. Assists in other departments. Operates various machines and equipment as needed.
  10. Helps train new employees as needed.
  11. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  12. Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
  13. Performs related work as assigned or apparent.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School education or equivalent, 2-year Vo-tech certification strongly preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience with production welding.
  • Excellent blue print reading skills.
  • Must pass a welding test during interview process.
  • Ability to work a schedule based on the understanding of responsibilities and priorities.
  • Ability to accurately read and match numbers.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions and communicate to personnel.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work in a manner that promotes a safe working environment.
  • Ability to contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ability to obtain equipment license or power equipment certification as required.
  • Demonstrates Northern Tool + Equipment’s 12 Core Competencies.

  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility during required length of the shift.

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Ability to operate forklift, motorized pallet jack or other power equipment as necessary.

 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

  • Protective footwear (steel-toe boots/shoes)
  • Protective eyewear required.
  • Protective hearing required.
  • Welding helmet
  • Welding gloves
  • Welding cape/sleeves
