About the role:

The Web Production Editor ensure that the team's tasks meet FT standards and style and are completed within schedule.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Sub-edits news, features and weekend stories
  • Processes all production work for all media platforms
  • Moderates readers' comments
  • Helps update FT.com pages
  • Adds links and story furniture to relevant stories
  • Responds to requests from other FT editorial desks and bureaux
  • Helps to improve the team spirit and internal work relationships
  • Performs other functions as instructed by the Team Leader and/or Manager


Qualifications / Competencies I Skills / Experience 

  • Excellent oral and written English grammar   
  • Works with minimum supervision, has sound news sense and is able to make crucial editorial judgment calls
  • Keen eye for detail, ability to spot errors
  • Adaptability to new work processes
  • Used to deadline pressure; can work fast yet maintain high quality of work
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Disciplined
  • Good at multitasking and well-organised
  • Willing to work on weekends and holidays
