The Web Development Manager is responsible for leading the web development teams, managing all aspects of WordPress development projects, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality websites. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of WordPress sites, coordinating with stakeholders, and implementing best practices to optimise website performance, security, and user experience. YOUR CHALLENGE:
- Offer technical leadership and insight on WordPress development best practices.
- Stay updated on the latest WordPress trends, technologies, and tools to ensure the use of cutting-edge solutions.
- Implement and oversee rigorous testing processes to ensure the stability, security, and performance of WordPress websites.
- Coach, mentor, and elevate members of the team to excel in their roles, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Collaborate with project and product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate WordPress solutions with other systems and platforms.
- Collaborate with the Director of Engineering on both technical and organisational strategies.
- Manage a geographically diverse team, ensuring streamlined communication and coordination, especially with outsourcing partners.
- Document technical processes and workflows for enhanced team productivity.
Leadership and team management responsibilities:

- Regularly check in with team members through 1-on-1 meetings.

- Oversee the hiring process for the team, liaising closely with HR and Talent Acquisition.

- Set and track team OKRs to ensure alignment with company objectives.
TO DO IT, YOU WILL NEED:
- Proven experience as a Web Development Manager or similar role, with a strong focus on WordPress.
- Strong understanding of web standards, accessibility, and SEO best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Experience with setting and tracking OKRs.
- Proficiency with GIT for version control.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and methodologies.
- Experience with container technologies like Docker.
- Knowledge of database solutions, specifically MySQL (familiarity with MongoDB is a plus).
- Previous experience in an affiliate marketing or lead generation organisation would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in a lead or managerial role, demonstrating leadership and mentorship capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
