Location: Deployment at various WCK Activation Sites Globally, 100% Travel Based
Job Type: Temporary / Contract Project Based
Duration: Project Based (7-10 Day Activation Period) with potential option for renewal
Reports To: Operations Center Manager
Requirement: Must have a valid passport and be located within 2 hours from an international airport

World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a non-profit organization that uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond. WCK is known for its rapid response to disasters, providing meals to those in need and ensuring no one goes hungry.

Scope of Work

The Watch Officer will be deployed to the WCK activation site and serves as a fusion role between the field and the operations center headquartered in Washington D.C. The primary responsibility of this role is to track personnel and vehicle movements and provide relevant on-the-ground intelligence to ensure efficient and effective operations. This role requires a high level of situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personnel Tracking: Monitor team and volunteer locations and statuses for safety and efficient deployment. #PersonnelManagement
  • Vehicle Tracking and Journey Management: Track vehicle movements, including driver and passenger details. #Logistics
  • Intelligence Gathering: Collect, analyze, and share information to support operational decisions. #Intelligence
  • Coordination: Act as the central contact between field teams and the operations center for seamless communication. #Coordination
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates on operations, risks, and incident reports. #Reporting
  • Situation Monitoring: Track local conditions and threats to maintain deployment area awareness. #SituationAwareness
  • Crisis Response: Support crisis efforts with real-time intelligence and assistance. #CrisisResponse
  • Documentation: Accurately document all activities, communications, and intelligence. #Documentation

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using tracking and communication tools and software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
  • Must have a strong background in supporting teams in challenging, fast-paced, and ever-changing environments.
  • Experience in sectors such as military, emergency response, culinary, humanitarian, or event management.
  • Must have a valid passport and be located within 2 hours from an international airport.

Compensation:

  • Day rates: (will vary depending on experience).
  • Expenses: Travel and accommodation expenses covered during deployment.

  • Training: We offer voluntary unpaid training opportunities to ensure you are well-prepared for deployment.
  • Background Check: Could be subject to a thorough background check.
