Warehouseperson - Great Lakes – 2nd Shift Lead

Job Overview: As the 2nd shift lead warehouseperson at Victaulic, you will supervise and oversee the operations and activities of the warehouse during the second shift. This includes managing a team of warehouse staff, ensuring efficient handling and movement of Victaulic products, and maintaining a safe work environment. Your leadership will help achieve productivity targets while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Supervision:
    • Oversee the work of warehouse staff on the 2nd shift.
    • Provide training and coaching to team members as needed.
    • Monitor team performance and productivity to meet operational goals.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Warehouse Operations:
    • Coordinate receiving, storing, and shipping of Victaulic products.
    • Ensure accurate order picking, packing, and shipping processes.
    • Maintain proper inventory levels and report discrepancies.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety protocols and procedures, adhering to Victaulic's standards.
    • Conduct safety audits and investigate any incidents or accidents.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Address and resolve issues such as inventory discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or order errors.
    • Collaborate with other leads and managers to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Communicate effectively with team members, other shifts, and management.
    • Provide shift updates and performance reports to management.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation of shift activities.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
    • Ensure team members use equipment safely and appropriately.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, ideally in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Availability to work 2nd shift hours and some overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
