Warehouse Operator

The role of Warehouse Operator is an important role in ensuring our warehouse operates with optimum precision and efficiency so that we can provide first class logistic support to our customers.  The role will also be required to complete basic cleaning duties to keep the warehouse tidy.  The position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Specific Functions

  • Work well autonomously and within a team to achieve safety, quality, and efficiency targets set by the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Support and maintain supply chain process.
  • Maintain inventory and supplies by receiving, storing and delivering items within KPI targets, creating quality records
  • Conduct all manner of Logisitc transactions in the Costpoint ERP
  • Working on planned activities for cycle counting and stocktakes in accordance with the Leidos Stocktaking plan
  • Supporting acitivites led by the Warehouse Coordinator and the Warehouse Supervisor
  • Working with production on returned packages, once confirmed, ensure inventory is managed back into the warehouse
  • Processing equipment requests from Leidos sites, to support Leidos and/or CASG requirements
  • Assisting with consolidating inventory that is like for like in the warehouse, and locating more frequently selected inventory to improve pick run efficiency
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing site environmental health and safety (EHS) policies and procedures; complying with applicable Work Health Safety (WHS) Act standards.
  • Secondary Function, when required to support Production Activities
  • Secondary Function, when required to support Facilties Activities (coordinated with Operations Coordinator and/or Operations Manager)

 

  • Recognised qualifications in warehouse or supply chain management or equivalent level of demonstrable competence are desirable
  • Ability to follow oral and writtem instructions
  • Valid Drivers Licence and Forklift Licence or willingness to gain Forklift Licence
  • Ability to gain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of Baseline.

Experience

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives.  You will also have:

  • Warehouse experience, including inwards and outwards freight
  • Experience in maintaining inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, delivering items, stocktaking and securing a warehouse
  • Strong user of ERP systems
  • Experience with MILIS/Defence logistic process is desirable
  • Relevant workplace Health and Safety training for Australian operations
  • Using SOP’s, process flow diagrams for warehouse activities

Skills

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as contribute in a team and professional environment
  • Ability to work well in a small team but can also work independently
  • Good Knowledge of information technology tools used for supply support and asset management
  • Basic communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • A focus on customer service
  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
