Key Objective

Day to day management of the warehouse operation, customer return functions and associated processes/procedures.

To supply a first class service, both internally, to all areas of the business, and externally to ZigZag Global customers and suppliers. To develop and maintain a clear and scalable logistics strategy to support the growth of ZigZag Global.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day operation of the warehouse and team.
  • Warehouse operations HR objectives including recruitment, training, support & development of the warehouse operations team; creating, documenting & enforcing workflows, policies and procedures
  • Act as a role model to Team Managers and Warehouse Assistants, promoting appropriate behaviours and encouraging a fair and inclusive working environment where people feel safe and secure to work.
  • Manage the security of the warehouse and parcels, develop protection and access policies and procedures.
  • Manage the receipt and despatch of returns to the Warehouse ensuring items are dealt with promptly and performance requirements are met.  Achieve warehouse operations and organisation mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Ensuring the highest operational standards are deployed at all times.
  • Responsible for investigating unidentified returns, team & carrier performance, reporting the information to relevant stakeholders and initiating corrective actions.
  • Develop warehouse design by planning layout, process workflow, staffing levels, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Meet warehouse operations financial objectives by optimising load patterns of linehauls & pallet services
  • Ensure the warehouse is compliant with current Health and Safety regulations and that the warehouse team is trained appropriately. Following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining and re-ordering of general consumables as agreed.
  • Liaise with external suppliers as required.
  • Develop and comply with expected standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain regular communication with line manager & key ZigZag stakeholders
  • Any other reasonable duties as and when requested.

Managing Processes, People Management, Supervision, Data Entry Skills, Data Entry Management, Data Processing, Dependability, Reporting Skills, Analysing Information , Dealing with Complexity, Deadline-Oriented

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a Warehouse Management role
  • Experience within Ecommerce distribution
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Great attention to detail
  • Willingness to be hands-on with returns parcels
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • IT Skills an advantage, e.g. Word, Excel and you will be expected to use our own software.
  • Occasional travel for training and meeting colleagues may be required.
