POSITION SUMMARY:  
The Warehouse Lead, under the guidance of the Inventory Manager, is responsible for all warehouse operations. This involves managing tasks such as receiving, storing, inventory management, and movement of materials.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead Responsibilities
  • Oversees the daily flow of inventory, encompassing responsibilities such as handling finished goods, packaging materials, and raw materials as they move in and out of the warehouse or external storage facilities.
  • Responsible for the placement of inventory within the warehouse or external storage, ensuring efficient utilization of storage space.
  • Responsible for proactive planning for inbound and outbound shipments, storage plans, and QA inventory management.
  • Upholds established quality assurance (QA) standards for the handling, storage, and distribution of inventory and finished goods.
  • Coordinates the transportation of loads/shipments to and from the facility.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and risk management protocols.
  • Maintains the upkeep of warehouse areas, equipment, and vehicles to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Ensures all employees in the warehouse are certified to utilize material handling equipment as required by OSHA.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repairs of all warehouse systems and equipment including, but not limited to HVAC and forklifts.
  • Ensures all physical movements of inventory are accompanied by system transactions in the ERP/WMS for traceability.
  • Prepares documents such as packing lists, bills of lading, booking information and COA/QA documents for all shipments.
  • Maintains regular communication with inventory stakeholders and the Inventory Manager regarding issues, proactively generating and implementing solutions to address them effectively.

  • Communication
  • Manages the loading and unloading processes for all shipments, including but not limited to intercompany, international, and inter-island shipments.
  • Coordinates and communicates deliveries and shipments with various departments as needed.
  • Prepares documents such as packing lists, bills of lading, booking information and COA/QA documents for all shipments.
  • Maintains regular communication with inventory stakeholders and the Inventory Manager regarding issues, proactively generating and implementing solutions to address them effectively.

  • Reporting
  • Ensures compliance with established metrics for daily productivity and delivers regular reports on overall performance.
  • Maintains shipment logs and other records as needed in an organized manner.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in various meetings, including those related to production, safety, and other relevant areas.
  • Plans and schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, ensuring that all duties are performed to established standards.
  • Completes any other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required for the position.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must have an associate degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in shipping, receiving, stock management, inventory control, and/or warehouse operations, preferably within the food industry, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Experience operating a forklift and other warehouse/production equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Occasional – Squatting; stooping; crouching; and stair climbing.
  • Frequent– Standing; walking; sitting; climbing; bending; forward reaching; twisting; side bending; overhead reach; grasping; use of hands, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; lift, carry and/or move up to 50 lbs. and talk or hear.
  • Constant –Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:

  • Occasional – The position requires talking to outside trade persons/vendors; verbal communication to outside trade persons/vendors; supervising others; written communication to co-workers; training/giving verbal instructions; visiting/working at different worksites.
  • Frequent – The position requires talking to co-workers; talking on the telephone; responding to written or verbal requests of co-workers; receiving verbal instruction; receiving written instruction; writing/composing written language.
  • Constant –The position requires reading, computer functions.
