The VP, Servicing Compliance will reduce risk, drive process excellence, and enhance efficiencies among Servicing teams.  The VP, Servicing Compliance will lead a team to align process controls that support strategic objectives as defined by the Servicing leadership team. This individual will ensure Berkadia's policies and best practices are Industry-leading and comply with guidelines, regulations and ethical standards. The VP, Servicing Compliance, will oversee and approve various servicing disbursement functions. This role is critical in reducing risk, driving process excellence, and enhancing efficiencies across Servicing teams.

  • Innovate and improve established policies to enhance operational efficiencies and best practices.
  • Lead the team in their daily activities while identifying, coaching, and developing the next line of managers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Support strategic business groups as Berkadia’s primary line of defense in compliance matters, serving as the primary compliance contact for designated programs, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership and the Learning and Development team to develop and implement training programs and job aids on internal policies and procedures and CRE topics.
  • Coordinate closely with other business groups to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Strive to exceed compliance standards to achieve peak operating efficiency and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of corporate and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with various business units to understand and ensure proper documentation support.
  • Address noncompliance issues by creating effective and realistic plans for resolution.
  • Conduct detailed interviews and document improvements to standardize practices across teams.
  • Approve and oversee the release of disbursements, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Coordinate reviews and responses for internal and external audits.
  • Execute other special projects and assignments as needed.
  • Communicate confidentially and effectively with various organizational levels, both internally and externally.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We are passionate about your growth, so to achieve success in this role you should have: 

  • Background in Commercial Real Estate and/or Financial Services compliance.
  • Strong risk assessment and problem-solving skills to identify noncompliance risks and develop effective solutions without impacting company operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a keen attention to detail, to accurately convey findings and ensure adherence to complex rules and regulations.
  • High moral integrity to uphold and promote strict compliance with all rules and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel and documentation skills, and experience in audit, or a thorough understanding of control environments.
  • Business travel, as required.  May include traveling to India.
