Business Insider is hiring a VP of Product to join our User Journey Group, serving as the groups head of product and a key executive responsible for guiding the overall product direction that integrates seamlessly with our broader business goals.

Our User Journey Group is a dynamic team at the forefront of digital innovation, responsible for creating seamless and engaging user interactions from first click to loyal subscription. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and deep industry insights, we address complex challenges with fast, simple and effective solutions that drive user engagement and growth. This group is responsible for engagement, brand, and subscriptions.

The Role & Team:

As the Vice President of Product, you will lead the strategic product vision and execution for the User Journey Group, aligning product initiatives with the company’s broader objectives. You will work very closely with the Chief Subscriptions Officer and Editorial Leads to ensure alignment, shared vision and achieve business and editorial goals.

This role reports directly to the Chief Product Officer and sits on the Product User Journey Group. This position is based in our New York City HQ with an in-office presence of at least 2 days per week.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage extensive product portfolios, leveraging your advanced understanding of market trends and competitive landscapes to drive innovative solutions.
  • Shape the User Journey strategy and lead large, cross-functional teams to significant business impacts through strategic product improvements and operational excellence.
  • Foster innovation within product teams, champion effective change management, and lead high-level initiatives that enhance Business Insider’s market position.
  • Influence company-wide strategies, represent the company in public speaking engagements, and drive initiatives that lead to industry-leading KPIs.
  • Develop and execute a forward-looking product strategy aimed at achieving meaningful KPI growth through smart product enhancements and exceptional user engagement.
  • Define and drive the User Journey product roadmap, ensuring alignment with the strategic business goals and market demands.
  • Build and scale high-performing product and UX design teams, establishing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Monitor KPIs and adjust strategies as needed to enhance product performance and user satisfaction.
  • Engage with external partners and stakeholders to maintain Business Insider’s competitive edge and visibility in the market.
  • A cultural example and leader for the whole Product and Tech team. You will be visible, collaborative and always leading with good intent.

The Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Proven expertise in digital media, with a strong track record in managing product portfolios and driving user-centered product innovations.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, capable of managing large teams and influencing company-wide initiatives.
  • Strong analytical abilities and experience in utilizing consumer insights to guide product development.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at high-level negotiations and public speaking.
  • Experience and proven ability to build and maintain positive and progressive team culture in a remote/hybrid environment.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Base salary: $225,000 - $260,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
