About the Position

As Ubitium's first VP of Engineering, you’ll play a key role in leading their engineering efforts. Your mission will be to hire, manage and grow an engineering team, driving the development of their new cutting-edge microprocessor and ensuring that they properly map out and achieve key milestones to achieve their goal. In this role, you will:

• Lead and Inspire: You’ll manage and grow our engineering team, providing leadership and motivation to ensure top-tier performance.
• Manage: Oversee all aspects of the chip development process, from tracking deliverables and milestones to ensuring timely execution.
• Guide: Take a hands-on role in guiding the design and development of complex digital logic chips, bringing your expertise in microprocessor tape-outs to the table.
• Mitigate risks: Work with the team to identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks.
• Grow and develop your team: Take the lead on hiring and developing a talented team of engineers, managing performance while keeping morale high.

We’re looking for someone special – a driven, hands-on leader who knows how to get things done and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to solve problems. To be considered for the role, you should be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of computer architecture and the chip design workflow and be passionate about our mission to change the world.

Qualifications & Experience

• Microprocessor Tape-Out Experience: You've worked on complex digital logic chip tape-outs (ideally within the past 12 months) and have experience with IP selection and integration.
• Process Node Expertise: You’ve got hands-on experience working with various process nodes (TSMC, Samsung or Global Foundries), ideally 12nm processes or smaller (7nm or even 5nm).
• Computer Architecture Mastery: You have a deep understanding of computer architecture, EDA tools and workflows.
• Leadership and People Skills: You’re a natural leader who knows how to manage projects, motivate teams, and deliver results.
• Fluency in English: This is a must! (Bonus points if you know German, but it’s not required).
• Problem-Solver: You’re hands-on and ready to dive in whenever the need arises. You’ve got a “get things done” attitude, and you thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
