What is the Role?
 
Reporting to AiDash’s CFO, the VP Legal will lead in building out the Company’s legal function. He/she/they will partner and work collaboratively with the management team, Board and global employee base. This team member will be an operationally oriented strategic thinker who has worked for high growth technology companies. He/she/they will be a player/coach with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" style who is excited to join and play a key leadership role in a rapidly growing organization.

  • Own, manage and drive multiple functional areas of legal advice including but not limited to:
  • Commercial, People/Employment, Data Privacy, Information Security, Corporate
  • Governance and Financial.
  • Help build the legal function with a focus on balancing internal stakeholder needs with overall company risk.
  • Provide general legal and business advice to the Company's executive team.
  • Lead the Company in structuring, negotiating, drafting, and closing complex commercial contracts, strategic partnership deals, technology arrangements, and financing deals to ensure both business and legal objectives are met.
  • Build a legal function that can partner with all areas of the business, including Sales, Business Development, Product, Finance and Human Resources, to advise on legal risks, business strategies, and other issues related to corporate transactions.
  • Partner with and advise internal business leaders on legal issues and risks, company policies and procedures, etc.
  • Coordinate relationships with outside law firms as necessary to assist the legal function and support business activities.
  • Support the People Operations function to maintain and update Employee’s Handbook and general HR policies and provide legal support in all HR related matters (labor contracts, disciplinary proceedings, litigation).
  • Advise and support the Company on IP and patent strategy.

What we are looking for?

  • Demonstrable experience building a world class legal function for a high growth/dynamic SaaS company.
  • 5+ years of transactional legal experience in a corporate legal department (preferably a technology company) with an emphasis on drafting and negotiating strategic and complex contracts.
  • Ability to dynamically assess risk and determine priorities based on evolving needs of the business.
  • Provide practical, risk-appropriate solutions balancing legal and business needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-department, cross-functional role.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage aggressive deadlines with minimal to no supervision across multiple time zones.
  • Excellent business and legal judgment.
  • Adapt style to differing audiences and an ability to simply communicate key legal points to business leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctorate degree from a US accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the US.
