The Vice President, Tax will lead the global tax organization and is responsible for all federal and international tax planning, compliance and reporting activities. This position will be accountable for the development of foreign and domestic tax strategies that comply with state, federal and international tax requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and direct the company’s tax strategy and tax planning including business operations and legal entity structuring that are consistent with both current and future business needs, optimizing internal and external resources
- Provide leadership to the tax organization that is aligned with company values and supports fiscal success; demonstrate ownership and responsibility for succession management and talent development
- Review tax implications of new transactions including new products/services, contracts, business ventures, and M&A
- Oversee the company’s income tax accounting process in accordance with ASC 740
- Enhance tax organization’s reporting systems and processes as well as the related internal controls
- Manage cash tax and effective tax rates
- Review and manage the income tax compliance for federal, state and local, and international tax filings
- Guide implementation of and compliance with transfer pricing policies in accordance with relevant jurisdictions’ requirements
- Manage and oversee tax related audits, including required internal and external coordination
- Monitor and ensure compliance with changing tax laws and guide management on changes impacting Extreme Reach
- Other duties as assigned
*Pursuant to New York City's Pay Transparency Law the pay range for this position is $176,000 - $251,000 plus bonus; base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Requirements
- 12 to 15 years of progressive corporate tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax setting with experience in international tax required; Big 4 accounting firm experience, and CPA / JD / Masters in Tax preferred
- Strong tax technical and research skills with excellent written and verbal communication to effectively communicate complex topics
- Experienced with both US and international tax matters including compliance and transfer pricing, analyzing tax implications of contemplated tax planning including M&A activity, and US GAAP financial reporting in accordance with ASC 740
- Strong management experience with demonstrated leadership in developing an effective tax team including hiring, development, and succession planning, as well as the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships throughout Extreme Reach and with external advisors
- Advanced problem-solving skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and innovation with the ability to work cross-functionally at all levels
