About the Role
We are looking for a VP Credit Risk and Underwriting with a deep understanding and hands on experience in managing credit risk (including underwriting, model development, line management, portfolio management, forecasting, collections) for large credit card portfolios. This role will report directly into our CEO, Bhavin Turakhia, and be responsible for a team of Analysts and Data Scientists that help our clients optimize RoE for multiple credit card programs across subprime and nearprime segments, leveraging best in class technology and practices.
Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across various dimensions of Credit Risk for large Credit Card Portfolios including -

Underwriting - Deep understanding and hands on experience of the steps required in building, monitoring and updating sophisticated LR, XGBoost based credit risk and underwriting models leveraging bureau data, alternative data and portfolio data

Credit Policy Definition - Experience in creating underwriting knockout rules, drafting credit policies, configuring adverse actions

Product definition - Defining commercial terms of Products to optimize RoE and adoption

Portfolio Management - Experience in monitoring and growing the performance and size of credit card portfolios, minimizing delinquencies and maximizing income

Collections - Experience in defining sophisticated contact and collections strategies that are both compliant and efficient, leveraging best in breed tools

Financial Modeling - Deep understanding and first hand experience in building sophisticated, multi-year, Credit Card Financial models (Income Statement and Balance Sheet), with granular assumptions of the relevant vintage curves

Indepth Systems knowledge - Indepth knowledge of vendors and capabilities across all relevant systems including - Application Processing, Loan Origination, Strategy Engines, Collections, Analytics etc

Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience (preferably 12+ years) across heading one or more of Credit Risk and Underwriting, Portfolio Management and Collections for large-sized credit card portfolio
- Degrees in Engineering / Economics / Finance / Statistics desirable
