The Job
The role of a Vice President of Business Development for Market Entry into Europe involves leading the efforts to expand a company's offerings into new European markets. This senior leadership position requires a combination of strategic insight, market knowledge, and business acumen.

Vision and Strategy Development
Define Vision for European Market Entry
- Establish a comprehensive and forward-thinking vision for Omnidian’s market entry into Europe. Identify key market dynamics, trends, and potential opportunities for growth, ensuring alignment with the company’s global objectives. Design a compelling value proposition tailored to the European market to ensure maximum impact and adoption.
Define Path(s) for Successful Entry/Growth Strategies
- Create and implement a clear, actionable roadmap for entering and scaling in the European market. This includes identifying the most effective market entry modes (e.g., direct, partnerships, acquisitions) and setting growth strategies across the product, customer, and partner ecosystem to ensure long-term success and sustainability.
Build and Drive Strategies Tailored to Targeted Segments
- Develop customized strategies for different market segments, including homeowners, installers, and business partners. Utilize market research and consumer insights to design targeted campaigns, product offerings, and operational processes to address the unique needs of these segments and drive adoption.
Develop Partnerships to Expedite Strategy/Execution
- Cultivate strategic relationships with key local and regional partners, including potential service providers, regulatory bodies, and local influencers. Ensure these partnerships accelerate the market entry and execution of Omnidian's vision while optimizing resources, market understanding, and operational efficiencies.
Business Development:
- Sales & Revenue Growth: Lead efforts to establish and grow the company’s presence by driving revenue, sales, and customer acquisition.
- Negotiations & Contracts: Oversee negotiation and closing of high-value contracts for solar services (e.g., maintenance, energy storage solutions).
Regulatory and Compliance Oversight:
- Policy and Regulation Knowledge: Ensure the company’s offerings comply with European Union energy policies, local regulations, and environmental laws.
- Incentives and Subsidies: Identify potential government incentives, grants, or subsidies in each market to help lower costs and increase profitability.
Financial Management:
- P&L Responsibility: Manage the financial performance of the European market expansion, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
- Investment Planning: Coordinate investment decisions for entering new markets, including capital allocation for marketing, operations, and R&D.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Team Building: Build and lead a cross-functional team that can execute the market entry plan, including sales, marketing, engineering, and legal experts.
- Talent Acquisition: Ensure the company hires the right local talent to support operations in each target country.
