Job Description
The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) Products & Platforms team is creating the next generation of scalable and responsible AI, ML, and Data Innovations and products to solve client and consumer problems. This is a cross-functional team of AI & data scientists, AI/ML engineers, data engineers, product managers, and program managers focused on generating value for the payments ecosystem.
Visa’s AI/ML models and products are an essential part of the world’s economy, as they play a key role in preventing fraud across the payments ecosystem, and generate high value to clients and consumers, all within milliseconds. Our AI/ML solutions generate hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for Visa and protect billions of dollars of payments transactions. You will be a key leader enabling and charting the future for AI and ML at Visa.
This challenging position requires a strategic thought leader, technical expert, and influencer to drive our transformation for all of Visa. You will create the vision and provide the technical execution for all of Visa’s AI/ML Platforms and Operations. Overseeing the product teams leading all AI/ML platforms and ML Eng / Ops teams, you will drive scale and will create a step function in the value delivered by AI and ML. You will partner closely with all our business unit teams (product, data science, and data/ML engineering teams across Risk and Identity Solutions, AI/ML products, etc.) and our Technology team to create the vision and roadmap for all AI/ML platforms and operations at Visa. Additionally, you will drive the creation of a commercial-grade software framework that can be continually updated and improved and be responsible for driving the adoption across all AI and ML teams at Visa.
Essential Functions
Create the vision and provide the technical execution for all of Visa’s AI/ML platforms and operations.
Direct and manage one of Visa’s most strategic assets – the data platforms that support our growing Value-Added Services business and products, including all of RaIS and VCA, in service of VisaNet’s security and all of Visa’s clients and consumers.
Change the way we do AI/ML at Visa, creating a new AI/ML development lifecycle and framework, and driving adoption across the entire organization (bringing teams together across multiple reporting lines and structures).
Collaborate with leaders across the organization, ranging from C-level executives to individual contributors, charting the path for AI/ML at Visa.
Be an organizational leader, influencing and enabling multiple partners across Visa’s entire operations (Technology, Global and Regional Data teams, Value Added Services, Visa Research, etc.)
Standardize AI model development, training, monitoring, and deployment.
Become the bridge between all AI/ML stakeholders at Visa and the Tech organization.
Establish strong relationships that facilitate influencing and roadmap alignment.
Leverage your deep understanding of AI/ML models and systems, data engineering and software skills to guide a world-class team of product managers and engineers to the next chapter of Visa’s history.
Basic Qualifications
12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/ JD/MD) or a minimum of 8 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
18 or more years of experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD).
Expertise in creating strategic roadmaps and delivering robust and scalable AI/ML/Data Science innovations and products.
10+ years’ direct experience in AI and ML development and platforms, with a focus on guiding business strategy through technological innovation.
Strong research background in AI and ML, evidenced by publications in top-tier conferences or journals.
Expertise in languages such as Python, R, and/or Java.
Experience creating and evolving cloud-based and hybrid AI & ML platforms, tools, and libraries.
Comfortable in advocating for and adopting new technologies as they emerge.
Advanced knowledge of data governance and privacy regulations.
Effective people leader, with proven experience building and managing a global, diverse, talented, curious, and driven team.
Exceptional communication skills with a knack for translating complex technical jargon into understandable language for non-technical stakeholders.
Strong business acumen, including financial management and strategic planning, is essential to align product development with organizational goals.
Experienced collaborator at all levels, effectively managing through challenges to reach the best outcome.
Ability to effectively manage operational disruptions and handle product operations crisis management situations.
Results-oriented leader; analytic and fact-based discipline with focus on delivering against quantitative goals.
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 231,700 to 426,150 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
