Discovery Education is looking for a Visual Designer. You will work under the supervision of an Art Lead to produce high-quality work. This position will work collaboratively with the design, curriculum and product teams to ideate and execute on creative strategies that meet department and project goals.
This is a remote 6-month contract role.
About the Role
- Working with the Lead Artist to capture and develop a Figma style guide for Reading and Math grades 3-5.
- Editing existing workfiles to make current math lessons color contrast accessible.
- Creating and updating the DreamBox Learning Reading Park library images.
Requirements
- BFA in visual Interaction design or similar field.
- At least 3+ years related experience.
- Eye-catching portfolio reflecting experience in digital interaction design, and design for learning (including student and teacher resources).
- Figma or similar wireframing tool (required).
- Deep understanding of game design and related UI/U .
- The ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Creative industry experience or a background of working as part of a design team a plus.
- The ability to see projects through from inception to production.
- Good organizational skills that support the rest of the team.
- The motivation to maintain and improve design standards.
- Experience creating and utilizing comprehensive design systems and style guides across multiple areas of product. Adding to the current design system through research, wireframing and component design.
- The willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve
- Adeptness with additional leading interaction design software:
- Adobe Creative Cloud, particular to Photoshop, Illustrator and Animate (preferred)
- Gaming design, 3D rendering, and development software could include but is not limited to Unity, Blender, Adobe Animate
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Illustration skills - Procreate a plus
- Legal right to work in the United States.
