ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
The Virtual resettlement program is a new and developing model of resettlement. We are looking for a director who is innovative and self-directed with strong problem-solving and efficiency skills. The position requires excellent written and oral communication and significant program management experience.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Missional and Office Leadership:
- Embody World Relief’s mission, vision and values as a leader and an example for staff, volunteers, clients and the community
- Serve as a strategic leader, providing direction and oversight in a fast-paced, virtual environment.
- Lead a growing team, providing clear direction, foster collaboration, and ensure that all team members have the tools and support needed to succeed.
- Work proactively to solve problems and maintain a sense of unity and purpose among team members
- Actively participate in the setting of office-wide policy and procedures, leading organizational initiatives and strategic planning
- Lead the development of an office culture based on integral mission principles, promoting collaboration and teamwork in a virtual setting.
- Foster a strong focus on cross-program and cross-department integration to meet program, staff and missional goals
- Partner with the Church and Community Engagement Team to develop effective, relevant methods for partnership with local churches and volunteers.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, delegation, and decision-making skills, empowering staff while providing clear direction and support.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This role is responsible for supervising others and includes responsibilities consistent with supervising employees including but not limited to monitoring daily work activities, tracking and approving timesheets including approving time off, monitoring performance including entering goals, progress check-ins, and weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, documenting performance concerns, entering staff promotions, transitions, and separations in HRIS within required timeframe. Managers at World Relief are also considered spiritual leaders and are expected to lead staff in a manner consistent with our Christian values including but not limited to praying with staff, leading devotionals, and fostering a Christian environment in interactions with staff throughout World Relief
- Facilitate regular, re-occurring one-on-one staff supervision meetings with all direct reports reviewing program needs and staff support and development
- Establish goals, provide performance reviews and follow-up on individual goals to foster professional growth
- Hire, train, support, and develop staff, ensuring that they are equipped to meet program demands in a virtual setting

Program Development and Planning:
- Lead the strategic development of virtual case management services, ensuring competitive and sustainable growth to meet evolving program needs
- Identify program needs and establish clear and measurable objectives and goals
- Communicate program objectives and provide leadership in reaching and celebrating milestones with the team.
- Contribute to strategic conversations, working closely with senior leadership to drive program growth and sustainability.
- Build bridges between growing teams, facilitating collaboration, problem-solving, and fostering a cohesive team dynamic.
- Ensure program budget health and monitor monthly financial reports
- Develop program policies and procedures for departmental operations
- Develop and implement systems of evaluation for program compliance, effectiveness, efficiency, and accessibility to meet client and organizational goals.
- Establish a robust document-keeping system and a clear flow of communication rhythm in a virtual setting, ensuring that all program documentation is accessible, organized, and up-to-date.

Program Oversight:
- Ensure adherence to all applicable World Relief policies and procedures
- Oversee the integration of all program components to meet client and organizational goals promoting collaboration and addressing challenges proactively.
- Ensure program compliance with all grant requirements
- Facilitate departmental and inter-departmental meetings when necessary
- Financial:
- In conjunction with appropriate leadership and Home Office Program Directors, plan and lead the annual budget for the Virtual R&P model and related programs
- Monitor monthly financial reports to ensure program budget health and sustainability
- Develop and evaluate sources of additional funding

Communications:
- Collaborate with marketing to facilitate production of external communications and materials as relates to Program Services
- Ensure regular communication with state and local stakeholders where VR&P clients are resettled.
- Maintain consistent communication with all internal Home Office stakeholders, including Systems, Operations, and Finance teams.
- Ensure timely and appropriate updates and reports to senior leadership
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in social work, public administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 5- 7 years’ experience working in refugee resettlement, including leadership roles- experience with the Reception & Placement program strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years management experience of team 10+ people
- Proven experience leading teams and managing staff in a virtual professional environment.
- Ability to plan, manage, and monitor budgets effectively. Experience in ensuring the financial health of programs and developing additional funding sources
- Experience with virtual staff development and performance management
- Proven Experience leading Programmatic and Organizational challenges.
- Proven Experience in strategic planning and decision making
- Proven experience scaling Programs and Teams
- Advanced computer skills required (Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, CRM)
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Must be able to travel domestically up to 25% of the time to support program activities and stakeholder engagement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grant management experience
- Master’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, International Studies or related field preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-starter and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to build trust for virtual teams and lead with integrity
- Ability to set priorities, manage time, and meet deadlines effectively; and to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to work with diverse populations, understanding the nuances and challenges of working in a cross-cultural setting.
- Comfortable using virtual communication and management tools; familiarity with case management software and other digital tools is a plus
- Experience with program design and M&E
- Familiarity with grant requirements, including government and private funding sources.
- Demonstrated experience in strategy development and implementation for growing teams or programs
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- Previous experience working in a virtual environment strongly preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex challenges and create solutions
