The ability to find and collaborate with others is also necessary. You might be hiring crews for field shoots, ideating with senior video leadership, creating call sheets and shot sheets during pre-production, working with editors and animators to bring those stories to life, or shooting and editing pieces yourself.

You will also help develop new original series and content tentpoles and lead Fortune’s video coverage of health and wellness.

You will:

  • Have YouTube programming experience. Understanding platform analytics and optimization.
  • Use data to generate story pitches with high viewership potential.
  • Have knowledge of camera gear, audio, and lighting in a shooting setting.
  • Have post-production experience with the Adobe suite - most specifically with Premiere Pro. Photoshop and After Effects are a plus.
  • Create short- and long-form video content for digital audiences, publishing to platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, among others.
  • Generate unique, original video pitches independently and conduct interviews.
  • Produce, write, and edit original content under deadlines.
  • Utilize graphics, original footage, and third-party footage to engage and educate viewers on various platforms.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and contractors to create video projects with a consistent style that works with the Fortune brand.
  • Willingness to switch gears at the drop of a hat, and jump into a project, no matter how big or small.

The right candidate:

  • Has a minimum 5 years of experience at a network or agency production level writing, producing, and editing digital video.
  • Has general knowledge of current events and business news.
  • Has sound editorial news judgment.
  • Has the ability to be detail-oriented and thorough in a fast-paced environment.
  • Has proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Can lift, carry and transport production equipment as needed.

Location: Our editorial team is based across time zones and international borders. This role can be based in the US, with a preference for New York City. If you’re based within commuting distance of one of our offices, there will be a minimum of 3 days/week in the office.

Salary Range: $30 to $45 per hour for 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, for 3 months to start). This range is a good-faith estimate and may ultimately vary based on a number of relevant factors.
