We are looking for a strategic Vice President (VP) UX Lead to drive our user experience initiatives and elevate our design standards across the organization. Reporting to the Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), this leadership role will be pivotal in shaping the overall user experience strategy, aligning it with business objectives, and fostering a user-centric culture within our teams.
What you will do:

Vision and Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive UX strategy that aligns with the company’s vision and business goals, ensuring a consistent and engaging user experience across all platforms.

Team Management: Lead and mentor a diverse team of UX designers, researchers, and strategists. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation.

User Research: Oversee the execution of user research activities to gather insights into user behaviors, needs, and pain points. Utilize this data to inform design decisions and enhance user/customer satisfaction.

Design Oversight: Guide the end-to-end design process from ideation to implementation, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet user needs and adhere to best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product management, engineering, marketing, and other departments to integrate UX principles into product development processes. Act as a key stakeholder in product development, supporting user needs and design principles.

Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate UX strategies and design concepts to executive leadership and other stakeholders, advocating for user-centered design principles across the organization.

Metrics and Analysis: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of UX initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvements. Use analytics and user feedback to drive continuous improvement and iterate on design solutions.

Industry Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX design and research. Drive innovation within the UX team.

Budget Management: Oversee the UX budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support team objectives and project needs. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies within the UX function.
What you will bring to Coupa:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction , or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in user experience design and research, with at least 7 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of leading successful UX initiatives in a complex environment
- A strong portfolio showcasing your UX work, including examples of user research, design processes, and the impact of your work on business outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead teams, manage cross-functional collaborations, and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and prototyping tools (e.g., InVision, Axure)
The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
•Based in Bay Area, California or New York: $320,000 - 380,000
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
