Access Services is looking to welcome a Vice President to provide oversight, leadership and management of the organization’s programs serving individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. 

The Vice President position leads a division of diverse and comprehensive programs managing the care and health of individuals with intellectual disability and autism.  Responsible for vision setting and strategic implementation, this person navigates the organization’s response to systems change while empowering programs and program leaders to drive continuous improvement quality improvement, strategic growth, and workforce development.  This role is a part of the larger organization’s executive team, driving the larger strategic goals and visioning for the future of the organization.  The ideal candidate for this role brings strong leadership, passion for the ID/A population, and creativity to innovate in a value reimbursement environment. 

 

Essential Functions 

  • Oversight of leadership teams in the intellectual disability and autism division.  
  • Operationally advance the mission and objectives of the organization.  
  • Represent programmatic needs and concerns to the Senior Vice President and Chief   Operating Officer.  
  • Respond to request for proposals and develop new program initiatives as needed.  
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of both the strategic plan and business plan with the management team and board.  
  • Cast a vision for the division around strategy and innovation. 
  • As a part of the Agency Executive Team, lead in organizational vision and strategic planning. 
  • Act as a systems advocate and organizational representative on behalf of the organization at local, state, and national levels 
  • Actively maintain involvement in Peer Review, Incident Management Compliance and Quality Assurance committees. Oversee and act as a liaison for other organizational committees.  
  • Ensure that the health and safety needs of the individuals being served are met.  
  • Ensure that the facilities are well maintained and safe at all times.  
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory expectations by empowering program leaders to have clarity to expectations and reliable processes for tracking and improving program performance. 
  • Ensure value through continuous quality improvement using data to empower change decisions.   
  • Ensure policy improvement and compliance reflecting industry best practices and care for the workforce. 
  • Empower and ensure excellence in incident management and in risk management by ensuring best practice standards are clear for the workforce and that we are consistently meeting internal and external expectations related to investigation, follow-up, and improvement.   
  • Partner closely with Agency operational resources to enhance processes and return on invested resources. 
  • Oversee the financial investment in the Division to ensure maximum value through innovating infrastructure, reduction of redundancy, braiding funding opportunities, and enhancing the financial literacy of the leadership team. 
  • Ensure application of technology solutions to build efficiency in processes and to maximize value and look to technology to deliver new innovative solutions to existing processes. 
  • Lead the Division's human talent in a way that builds leaders and maximizes outcomes for those we serve. 
  • Inspire leadership development through proximity with all levels of the workforce, driving career pathways that lead to better lives for the workforce and for those we serve. 
  • Instill the mission, vision and values of Access Services through all staff in the division ensuring that leadership decisions are communicated clearly and effectively, enhancing engagement and understanding of their role in the whole of Access Service. 
  • Receive feedback from the consumer population to drive continuous process improvement.  
  • Ensure strong program leadership through program monitoring efforts and realize improvement through leadership development, consistent accountability processes, and coaching. 
  • Create, and support program leaders to create, external partnerships that enhance outcomes for those we serve. 

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field including human services, social work, psychology or special education required. Master’s degree preferred.  

  

Experience:  

  • Ten (10) years of experience in mental health, intellectual disabilities, autism, or health care field required. 
  • Five (5) years of industry-related progressive leadership experience required.  

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, business associates, state and county officials and the general public.  
  • Ability to effectively work as part of a team.  
  • Ability to work independently.  
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.  
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.  
  • Knowledge of budget, state licensing regulations, county systems and family dynamics. 
  • In depth knowledge of business practices related to the social services nonprofit sector.  
  • Commitment to proficiency in, or ability to learn and use, workplace applications, platforms and technologies.  

 

Essential Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Work in a standard office environment. Utilize desktop computer equipment on a daily basis. Able to lift or move items associated with sedentary work and light work (exert up to 20 lbs.) Routinely travel to offsite locations and regional office locations. May require the same physical and lifting requirements as an employee who regularly provides direct care should they be needed to assist.

Schedule and Compensation: 
Compensation:   

  • The annual salary for this role starts at $100,000 with increases based on education and experience; plus, a competitive benefits package.   

  Work Schedule:   

  • Monday through Friday during regular business hours, flexibility with schedule and availability to respond to emergency scenarios is required.  
  • Regular presence with leadership teams across all three regions with offices in Fort Washington, Bethlehem, and Orwigsburg is required.
